It’s may 1st the first day of mental health awareness month why I have a whole month dedicated to mental health, one in five adults struggles with mental illness. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15 to 24 year olds. Depression is the leading cause of disabilities worldwide. These problems impact everyone regardless of your background identity or how much money you have yet mental health isn’t treated the same way as other aspects of health. There’s a bias in the way it’s depicted in the media. Not everyone has access to treatment insurance companies don’t give mental health care equal coverage. And there’s a lot of misinformation about mental illness and effective. This is our opportunity to change that. I promise to spend this month sharing everything I know about mental health here on the site show. I’ll tell my story discussed diagnosis and treatment resources and take your questions during live episodes, but I can’t do this alone for this to work. I need your help to start a conversation about mental health. Write your questions about mental health in the comments below, visit Naomi dot org to find resources, download the Naomi air app to get anonymous support, and if you’re in crisis. Visit suicide prevention lifeline or call 1 802 7 3 8 2 5 dollar together, we’re going to replace stigma with hope tomorrow on the sanctuary of the story of how I overcame my anxiety disorder.
